The Witcher’s new animated film brings the video game Geralt to Netflix

Sirens of the Deep adapts one of Witcher’s best short stories, “A Little Sacrifice,” which puts Geralt in an awkward position in the middle of a conflict between humans and a kingdom of underwater Merpeople, thanks to a complicated marriage proposal. Of course, since this is a Witcher story, things are a little more complicated, and it seems that a mysterious force is pushing the two sides to war, with only Geralt, Jaskier, and their friend Essi there to stop it.

Like the previous Witcher film, The Wolf’s Nightmarethis one is animated by Studio Mir, with beautiful looking action and sleek character designs that manage to find a happy medium between the look of the Netflix show and the CD Projekt RED games. Netflix also took the same approach with the film’s cast, bringing in beloved voice actor Doug Cockle for Geralt, who also voices him in the games, while Jaskier and Yennefer are both voiced by their actors from the live-action series – Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra.
