Kareena Kapoor’s team releases statement, assures children are safe after Saif Ali Khan knife attack

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering after sustaining multiple stab wounds during an attempted robbery at his Bandra West residence in Mumbai in the early hours of January 16. The actor, who was attacked around 2.30 am, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif’s wife, addressed the situation through a statement released by her team confirming the safety of the family.

“There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif had an injury to his arm, for which he is in hospital, during a procedure. The rest of the family is fine. We ask the media and fans to be patient and not to speculate further as the police are already conducting their proper investigations. The couple’s children, 8-year-old Taimur and 4-year-old Jeh, were unharmed during the incident.

Dr. Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital confirmed that Saif was stabbed six times with two deep wounds, one dangerously close to his spine. A specialized team, led by neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, performed the surgery. “Saif is now recovering and is under observation,” added Dr. Parking.

The Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch have launched an investigation to identify the intruder. While the motive behind the robbery remains unclear, initial reports suggest that a violent confrontation led to Saif’s injuries.

Kareena Kapoor’s social media activity from the night before indicates that she may not have been at home at the time of the attack as she attended a dinner with sister Karisma Kapoor and friends Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.
