World no. 1 Aryna Sabalenka reveals her go-to pre-match meal as she steps out with her steak-cake boyfriend after getting Uber Eats at the Australian Open

Belarusian powerhouse Aryna Sabalenka has been photographed picking up her pre-match meal before stepping out with boyfriend Georgios Frangulis at the Australian Open.

World no. 1 got his quest for a third straight Australian Open crown off to a winning start on Sunday night.

She faced American Sloane Stephens, the 2017 US Open champion, under the Rod Laver Arena roof and claimed a 6-3 6-2 victory.

Earlier in the day at around 3.20pm, Sabalenka gave her fans a glimpse into how she gets fired up for big matches when she was pictured picking up her Uber Eats delivery.

Dressed in casual workout gear, the tennis star stocked up on some tasty snacks, including beef brisket bao buns and spicy corn fritters.

After her meal, the 26-year-old was seen heading out for a stroll with her superfood entrepreneur partner as the pair visited Tiffany & Co. jewelery on Melbourne’s exclusive Collins Street.

Earlier this week, Sabalenka treated her followers to a series of photos of her and Frangulis, one of which showed a photo of her wearing a gold ring with a huge gemstone on the ring finger of her left hand.

Many of her fans jumped to the conclusion that her husband had popped the question, but Sabalenka answered one by writing: ‘No guys, it’s just a pretty ring, we’re not engaged.’

The 26-year-old went public with the romance last May, sharing a photo of them together after she fell to Iga Swiatek at the Italian Open.

It came two months after her ex-boyfriend, Belarusian ice hockey star Konstantin Koltsov, died after jumping from a hotel balcony in Miami in a tragedy that left the tennis star devastated.

In July, Sabalenka described Frangulis as ‘the love of my life’ as the pair enjoyed a holiday after injury forced her to withdraw from Wimbledon.

Born in Brazil, Frangulis is the founder of superfood brand Oakberry, which sponsored the Haas F1 team and formed a partnership with Sabalenka after the romance began, and she created her own acai bowl for the brand.

He studied law before becoming an entrepreneur and has a strong interest in motorsport, having driven in 128 races in Brazil’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup competition.

Frangulis often sends touching messages to her partner on Instagram, writing “I’m in love with the Queen of NY” when the pair were photographed together after she won last year’s US Open at Flushing Meadows.

When Sabalenka captioned a recent post showing them together with ‘Tis the season for silly couple photos, good outfits and good food’, he responded with: ‘Always silly, never boring, te amo’, using the Portuguese term for ‘I love you’.

Koltsov and Sabalenka were together for three years before his death, and the Grand Slam champion later opened up about how she dealt with his passing.

“Once I lost my father and tennis helped me get through that tough loss,” she said.

So at that moment (of Koltsov’s death) I thought I just have to keep going, keep playing, keep doing my part to separate my personal life from my career life.

‘But in the end I would say I struggled a lot health-wise because I didn’t stop. It was really emotional and really stressful and it kind of damaged my mental health at the time.’

After Sunday night’s match, Sabalenka said her improved mental toughness is behind her rise to the top.

Although she never appeared in danger of defeat, Sabalenka lacked her usual polish in the opening set and her flourishing serve disappeared.

The Belarusian roared to a 4-0 lead but twice dropped her serve to allow Stephens to break back for 4-3.

But a steely Sabalenka regained control and was able to break the veteran world No. 66 before serving out the set.

She said that her old self may have sabotaged the match at the time.

‘I think it’s a big difference. “Compare myself to three years ago, at that moment I would be frustrated and probably lose the first set,” Sabalenka said.

‘I’m not sure if I would be able to win the match.

‘I’m really happy that I improved my mental toughness – I’m able to stay focused no matter what the score is, what the situation is. I focus on the game, on the point. I focus point by point.’
