As promised it is snowing in Florida today, and conditions will go steadily downhill overnight and Wednesday morning.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a state of emergency Sunday ahead of what some forecasters have said has the potential to be one of those worst storms in Gulf Coast history.

The “historic blizzard” is expected to “spread dangerous snow and ice along 1,000 miles of Interstate 10 from central Texas to northern Florida,” according to AccuWeather.

“For parts of the western and northern Gulf Coast, this may be biggest snow and ice storm in more than 100 years and possibly one that people will remember for decades,” AccuWeather said.
