‘High Potential’ With Kaitlin Olson scores second season renewal on ABC

ABC sees potential in Kaitlin Olson as amateur performer Morgan Guillory.

Alphabet has announced a second season of Olseon’s High potentialwhich opened the new year with its largest audience — 12.9 million — across all platforms over seven days, according to Nielsen.

Based on the French and Belgian TV series HPI, High potential centered on Morgan Guillory, a single mother of three who is a cleaning wife for the Los Angeles Police Department. She has high potential intellectually (hence the title of the series) with an IQ of 160. And after figuring out a case using her unconventional mind, she becomes a consultant to the LAPD’s Major Crimes Division.

High potential also stars Daniel Sunjata (Save me) as Karadec, Javicia Leslie (Batwoman) as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz (The flight attendant) as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J (Shameless) as Ava, Matthew Lamb (Fire buds) as Elliot and Judy Reyes (Itches) as Selena.

High potential now airs on ABC Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET (out of Will Trent and in The Rookie), and streams the next day on Hulu. Disney’s 20th television is the studio.

Thirteen episodes were ordered for season one of High potentialwith the number of new episodes for season two not confirmed at press time. Olson also plays along It’s always sunny in Philadelphia FX, why there was a shorter freshman season of High potential. And she has the recurring role of DJ Vance, Debra Vance’s (Jean Smart) daughter, on the Hulu comedy Hacks.
