Alachua County Public Schools Open Tuesday; On Wednesday, a decision will be made no later than Tuesday at 17.00

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Alachua County Public Schools will be in session tomorrow, Tuesday the 21st. Families will be notified on Wednesday at 5:00pm Tuesday.

Alachua County Public Schools sent the following message to families today:

Members of the Alachua County Public Schools management team have been in communication with the National Weather Service (NWS) – Jacksonville and the Alachua County Emergency Management team regularly over the past few days regarding the winter storm outlook for our area this week. District staff will meet again with both organizations on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 21.

The schools will meet tomorrow, Tuesday the 21st. All leisure school-based activities end at 5pm tomorrow.

A decision on whether to close schools on Wednesday 22 January will be made after meetings tomorrow afternoon. A message will be sent to all families via e-mail, phone and SMS at 5pm on Tuesday. An announcement will also be posted on the district’s social media pages and website (www.sbac.edu) at that time.
