NEW DELHI: Young Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh made history on Wednesday, becoming the country’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is during the opening match of the five-match series against England at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is third on the list with 90 wickets from 87 matches. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya follow close behind, tied on 89 wickets, with Bumrah achieving the mark in just 70 matches compared to Hardik’s 110 appearances.
Arshdeep’s journey has been a revelation for Indian cricket. Known for his accurate yorkers and ability to bowl in the death overs, he has become a go-to bowler for the team in crunch situations.
With India’s T20 side in transition, Arshdeep’s consistency provides stability to the bowling line-up.
Arshdeep, who finished as the joint top wicket-taker in the 2024 T20 World Cup, has also made India’s ODI squad for the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy.
