Ian Baucom Resigns as Executive Vice President – The Cavalier Daily

Ian Baucom, University executive vice president and provost, has been named president of Middlebury College, according to a release posted on Middlebury’s website 10 hours ago. Announced at the university on Wednesday morning, Baucom will officially step down in March.

Baucom has served as executive vice president and provost since 2022. In this position, he is responsible for managing the university’s academic schools – including overseeing education and research initiatives, libraries, art museums and public service.

Prior to 2022, Baucom served as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for eight years after spending 17 years at Duke University.

A representative from the university had not yet responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.
