NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Update (13:10): The Metro Nashville Police Department has confirmed that two people are now dead and two more injured in the shooting at Antioch High School Wednesday morning.

MNPD’s Don Aaron reports that a girl is dead and that the shooter, a 17-year-old boy, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The third victim, a girl, is being treated for a wound from the shooting.

The fourth victim, a boy, suffered a facial injury but was not shot, according to MNPD. He is being treated for this injury.

Aaron said the 17-year-old fired several shots in the school cafeteria — shooting the two girls and then himself. SWAT units have cleared the school and MNPD reports there is no further threat to the public.

School buses continue to transport students to the reunification center.

Update (12:55): One person is dead and two others are in stable condition after a shooting at Antioch High School Wednesday morning, Vanderbilt University Medical Center confirmed to WSMV4.

One of the victims is reportedly stable at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, the other is reportedly stable at VUMC – the deceased person was also taken to VUMC.

Update (12:30 p.m.): The Metro Nashville Police Department encourages parents to call 615-401-1712 for reunion information. All students will be taken to Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital (3754 Murfreesboro Pike) by bus including car riders.

Update (12:20): The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office reports Hobson Pike will be closed indefinitely at the Wilson and Davidson County line.

Update (12:02): The Metro Nashville Police Department has released more information about the shooting at Antioch High School that left three students injured.

MNPD reports three students were injured, including the suspect, who suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The reunion location for parents and their children will be at 3754 Murfreesboro Pike. Buses take the students there.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation has dispatched HELP trucks to assist with traffic control in response to this shooting.

MNPD confirmed to WSMV4 that two students were shot by another student. The shooter then suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to MNPD.

The shooting took place in the cafeteria. The situation is now reportedly subdued.

“Antioch High School is on lockdown due to shots being fired inside the school building. The Metropolitan Police are on the scene. The person responsible for the shooting is no longer a threat. We gather students in the auditorium and inform about reunion as soon as possible.

This is an active crime scene and investigation. We will work with the MNPD to provide additional updates as they become available.”

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have also responded to the shooting.
