Everton have contacted entourage in recent hours – Want to overtake Real Betis, development is expected

Everton are back in the mix to sign Juventus’ Arthur Melo in the winter market, according to reports Everything Juve.

Last season the midfielder was on loan at Fiorentina and featured regularly for La Viola. He has been left out of Thiago Motta’s plans at Juve and has not featured this season.

Two months ago we covered claims from Italy, who said Everton were a definite possibility for him in January.

Since then, Real Betis stepped forward and various claims said they are set to secure the 28-year-old’s services. The La Liga side have yet to complete the deal and that has given Everton the opportunity to get back into the picture.

According to Tutto Juve, the Toffees have made contact with the player’s entourage in the ‘recent hours’ to inquire about his situation. They add that negotiations with Real Betis are currently at a standstill, which could give David Moyes’ side an opportunity to make a move.

Everton ‘could shoot the arrow and overtake’ Real Betis to sign the Brazilian in this window. The report adds that there may be developments in the ‘coming hours’.

Arthur has been linked with Everton since before the club takeover and of course before David Moyes returned. It seems they would still be so keen on a player who has already struggled on Merseyside.

Maybe they will be used to pressure Real Betis to hurry up.
