Andy’s thoughts before the game:

Our final game of Week 8 features The Team From Toronto, Nerd Alert! and Game Night Rules! While I don’t think any of these teams matter to fans of the regular show, one of these teams has personal significance to me personally: The Toronto team is the first of two teams that I personally have known for quite a long time; my jubilant allegiance will be very evident in this one. Apologies to the other two teams – I really don’t mind you!

Andy’s thoughts:

  • 23 years after I did it, I both love and hate that “Trivia Club” is still frequently used by Canadian trivia shows; I chose the term because of the scope expansion into a multitude of different possible trivia formats and not just “Reach for the Top,” “SmartAsk!” or “quiz bowl”.
  • Today’s box score will be linked when posted by the show.

Final danger! betting proposal:

(Scores: Team from Toronto 15,000 Game Night Rules! 10,500 Nerd Alert! 7,000)

The team from Toronto: The standard coverage bet over Game Night Rules is 6,001. (Actual bet: 6,001)

Nerd Alert!: Bet at least 2,000 for a chance to win – but you might as well go all in to force a Game Night cover. (Actual bet: 5,990)

Game Night Rules!: You cannot both cover Nerd Alert and win a Triple Stumper. You should bet at least 3,501 to cover Nerd Alert, but you might as well go all in to force a cover from Toronto. (Actual bet: 10,499)
