UFC London: Leon Edwards to fight Jack Della Maddalena in the main event in March

Great Britain’s Leon Edwards will fight Australia’s Jack Della Maddalena in the main event at UFC London on March 22.

Edwards, 33, will compete for the first time since losing his welterweight belt to American Belal Muhammad in Manchester in July 2024.

Della Maddalena, 28, is number four in the UFC welterweight rankings after winning his first seven fights in the promotion.

He fought late last March, stopping Brazil’s Gilbert Burns in the third round in an impressive performance.

A win for either athlete would put them in pole position to challenge the winner of the title fight between Muhammad and Shavkat Rakhmonov, which is set to take place at an unconfirmed date later this year.

The contest between Edwards and Della Maddalena joins a handful of contests already confirmed for the card at the O2 Arena, including Britain’s Molly McCann against Brazilian strawweight Istela Nunes.

British heavyweight Mick Parkin takes on Poland’s Marcin Tybura, and Ireland’s Shauna Bannon meets India’s Puja Tomar at strawweight.
