The Saturday evening actress and Evil the actor shares the nominations for the 2025 Oscars across 23 categories, including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actor, Adapted and Original Screenplay, Documentary, Animated Feature, Original Song, Score, Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Cinematography, Editing , visual effects, production design and more.

Film fans can stream the announcement of the nominations and follow along below as the nominees are revealed.

The announcement of the 2025 Academy Awards nominees, originally set for Friday, January 17, was delayed twice amid the Los Angeles wildfires, which have left at least 28 people dead with more than 14,000 buildings destroyed and nearly 40,000 acres burned.

As fires raged across Los Angeles on January 8, the day voting for this year’s nominees opened, the Academy extended the voting window to January 14 with a plan to announce this year’s nominees on January 19. But as the devastation caused by the fires continued to unfold the following week, on January 13, the Academy again extended the voting window for the nominations to January 17 and set January 23 as the date for this year’s announcement.

The academy has also donated $1 million to the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s wildfire efforts, including $250,000 it would have spent on the Feb. 10 Oscar nominees luncheon, which has been canceled.

The Academy still plans to go ahead with this year’s Academy Awards, but revealed Wednesday that this year’s awards show will also “honor Los Angeles.”

“We will honor Los Angeles as the City of Dreams and showcase its beauty and resilience, as well as its role as a beacon for filmmakers and creative visionaries for over a century,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang said in a letter to members. “We will reflect on recent events while highlighting the strength, creativity and optimism that define Los Angeles and our industry.”

The 97th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will be broadcast live coast-to-coast on Sunday, March 2 from the Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood, starting at the show debuted last year, on ABC and Hulu.
