Just when Jacksonville Jaguars thought they were out, they were withdrawn.

According to several reports, Jacksonville meets with Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen to, after all, interview the coach and the two sides, according to ESPNs Adam SchefteR, discussing an appointment to make him the team’s next head coach.

On Wednesday, Coen was scheduled to interview with the franchise for the second time, but chose to return to Tampa and become as the team’s coordinator in 2025 instead.

The reversal of Coen apparently led to owner Shad Khan Firing General Manager Trent Baalke and now Coen is back on board.

Sore NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, Coen informed Jaguars Wednesday that he was staying in Tampa on a new contract, “but after the firing of GM Trent Baalke, the jags extended to see if Coen would consider. Now Coen is in Jacksonville and seems to be heading towards a Agreement, “NFL Insider said via X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Buccane’s writer beat Rick Stroud, Coen hadn’t spoken to Buccaneers since Wednesday afternoon.

“They tried to reach him and have not been able to. Instead of signing his contract, which was a formality, he secretly traveled to Jacksonville to meet with the Jag’s owner Shad Khan,” Stroud reported about X.

Although it has not become official, it seems that Jaguars are on the verge of hiring the team’s next head coach.
