LeBron, Top Vote-Better Giannis Lead NBA All-Star Starters

LeBron James expanded his record to 21 All-Star elections on Thursday night, when he was again named a starter for this year’s middle season exhibition of NBA’s biggest names.

James, who turned 40 last month, expanded his record after surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbars 19 choices last season. He will be assembled in the Western Conference Starting Setup of Denver Nuggets Center Nikola Jokic, NBA’s reigning most valuable player; Phoenix Suns Forward Kevin Durant, who is tied to the fourth most elections by 15; Oklahoma City Thunder Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander; and Golden State Warriors Guard Stephen Curry.

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo meanwhile, all players in the fan who voted for another straight season and joined Boston Celtics Frem Jayson Tatum, Cleveland Cavaliers Guard Donovan Mitchell and New York Knick’s teammates Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns in that Eastern Conference Start Five.

James, who was ready to meet against Tatum and Celtics later Thursday in Los Angeles, is an average for a player of his age. Durant, meanwhile, joins Hall of Famers Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O’Neal with 15 All-Star elections that only pulled James, Abdul-Jabbar and deceased Kobe Bryant (18).

Jokic, who earns his seventh All-Star committee, has another star season for nuggets, an average point range. Curry returns to the starting lineup after being a reserve last year as the game will be played at his home arena in San Francisco. He will generally make his 11th appearance and angled past with Dalla’s Mavericks star Luka Doncic in recent weeks to do so, in the only close vote among the Western elections.

There was certainly no drama about Gilgeous-Alexander that returned to the starting lineup for the second straight season. Fresh from his first 50-point game Wednesday night against Utah Jazz, Gilgeous-Alexander is an average of 32 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists for the western leading thunder.

In the east, Antetokounmpo, now an all-star for the ninth time, led the road. It was the sixth performance for both Tatum and Mitchell, who was widely expected to be starters with Antetokounmpo, just like Towns, starting the All-Star game for the first time in his career in his first season in New York after doing it Four times as a reserve in its first nine seasons with Minnesota Timberwolves.

The starting lineups are selected from a hybrid reconciliation system where 50% of the votes come from fan -votes and 25% from both media and current players.

The lonely starting point, which really felt up to intervene in Thursday’s reveal, was the second east starter with Mitchell in Backcourt. In the mix was Brunson, Charlotte Hornets Guard Lamelo Ball – which ended with most fan voices among East Guards – and Bucks Guard Damian Lillard.

In the end, it was Brunson who got the place.

The seven reserves from each conference will be revealed next Thursday at TNT, based on voting from each conference coach.

The coaches of this year’s All-Star Game will be Mark Daignault of Thunder and Kenny Atkinson from Cavaliers. Due to the change in format this season, the 24 All-Stars have broken up in three teams, plus the winning team from Rising Stars Challenge Friday night-will-will assist coach from both Thunder and Cavaliers train two of the teams.
