Met Office emits yellow weather warning for heavy rain

A yellow weather warning for heavy rainfall with risk of local floods has been issued by MET Office.

The warning is in placeAt outer For Essex, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. It takes effect between 7 p.m. 08.00 GMT Sunday until 7 p.m. 06.00 Monday.

Met Office said it expected that up to 20 mm (0.7 inches) would fall, but there could be up to 50 mm (1.9 inches) over high terrain and as much as 80 mm (3, 1 inch) a few places.

People have been warned that the extra rainfall on top of the latest rainfall can lead to surface water and river flooding.
