17-year-old girl killed in Midland Co. Crash

Midland CO., Mich. (Wnem) -A 17-year-old girl was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Midland County on Thursday morning, January 23, according to Midland County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the crash happened around 1 p.m. 06.42 on E. Isabella Road in Homer Township.

A preliminary study shows that the 17-year-old was running a Chevy Sonic East on E. Isabella Road just west of the S. 5 Mile Road when she lost control on the ice and snowy road, crossed the midline and collided with a chevy Silverado was run west of A 41-year-old Midland man, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said the 17-year-old was declared dead on stage. The 41-year-old suffered minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital for further treatment.

According to the Lensmann Office, speed and road conditions are factors in the crash based on the preliminary investigation.

The accident is under investigation.
