Fort Lauderdale – Spirit Airlines has rolled out a stricter dresscode policy that warns passengers that they may be denied boarding or removed from aircraft based on their attire.

The low -cost airline, headquartered in Dania Beach, updated its transport contract outlines restrictions on transparent clothing, bare breasts or buttocks, other private parts, obscene or offensive clothing or tattoos and bare feet.

Political change has triggered mixed reactions among passengers in southern Florida.

“It’s just too many rules. People are just trying to get where they are going,” said Rastaway J., a spirit passenger. “I feel that one should not set rules for how people wear their clothes while flying.”

Andrea Garcia shared similar concerns: “It’s bad because you have to carry what you want. Although someone doesn’t like it, they don’t have an impact on what people wear.”

Others defended the airline’s right to enforce such policies.

“They are the owners. They can do what they want,” said Zaidiel Cardoza. “I am also a business owner and I have certain rules on my business so they can have rules as well.”

The changes have prompted some passengers to rethink their loyalty to Spirit Airlines.

“If they change more things, then I will definitely consider flying with them,” Garcia said.

“Just hearing it makes me want to keep me away from Spirit, definitely,” Rastaway J.

Spirit Airlines has not responded to requests for comments regarding the updated dress code.
