1,000 Liberty students go to DC to the annual march for Life

Liberty University started its Friday morning in the dark morning hours of getting 1,000 students on buses heading for Washington DC

The 20 buses left campus just after 5:30, and started the three -hour drive to the country’s capital.

The annual “Pro-Life March” is the largest anti-abort demonstration in the United States and a long-lasting tradition of Liberty.

Josie Huyard, Vice President of the Freedom Center Society at LU, said it is a crucial part of the “fight for life.”

Abortion has been extremely normalized and it is extremely wrong, “Huyard explained.” Abortion is murder. And I think that’s why it’s super important for citizens to say because it’s wrong. And morality has been so screwed up in society. And that’s why we have to say. “

“March for Life” has taken place annually in DC since 1974, the year after the landmark ROE v. Wade Supreme Court’s decision made abortion legal at the federal level.

“Even after the decision was overturned almost three years ago, the demonstration continues to be a strong support for the holiness of life,” according to Lu.

President Donald Trump is expected to deliver a video message to the attendees to the march.

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance will be this year’s keynote speaker and deliver the main message to them before they march.
