Man Ferguson defeated to become the temporary champion of 2017, Kevin Lee, was one of the first big names to sign with GFL. Lee has said The plan is for him to fight FergusonBut a few details had to be prepared.

If Ferguson’s signature is real, these details may be resolved.

Ferguson is on a UFC record-breaking losing row. He has lost eight in a row, and worst of all, Ferguson has been stopped in five of these matches. Throughout his career, Ferguson has had 36 professional matches. He has a 25-11 record.

When you consider the length of his losing row, it is easy to see how dominant he was before his current sliding. From 2013-2019 Ferguson won a remarkable 12 consecutive matches.

During Ferguson’s UFC race, he registered winner over Yves Edwards, Danny Castillo, Gleison Tibau, Josh Thomson, Edson Barboza, Rafael dos Anjos, Kevin Lee, Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone.

While Ferguson has fought for a virtual who is who in his weight class, there is a great fighter he never locked horns in his career: Khabib nurmagomedov.

Despite planning a match with Nurmagomedov five times, they never shared Octagon.

GFL has announced dozens of signings in the last few weeks. However, there have been some discrepancies as some of the warriors are still under contract with other campaigns.

That doesn’t seem to be the case with Ferguson. In addition to UFC’s reluctance to book him in another match and Lee, which mentions the discussions with GFL, Ferguson posted a cryptic video on his social media, which apparently hinted at a new beginning in his career.

Hopefully Ferguson can find the closure he needs that allows him to walk away from the sport safe and happy. GFL’s initial draft will take place on Friday, January 24.

Ferguson is expected to be among the warriors justified to get their name called. Be looking for coverage of the draft, teams and other information coming from Friday’s event.
