Dallas Goedert, Cam Jurgens Missing Training – NBC Sports Philadelphia

A few important Eagles did not train on Thursday as Eagles are preparing to host commanders in the NFC Championship Game.

Tight-end Dallas Goedert (ankle) and Center Cam Jurgens (Back at Back) did not participate. Goedert was for training at Linc, but did not have a helmet and did not attend. He caught some passes on the side of the field while his teammates warmed up. And Jurgens was not seen at all for training during the portion open to journalists.

Both Goedert and Jurgens were listed as “DNP” on Eagles’ estimated injury report after a review to start the week.

The good news of Thursday is that Jalen Hurts (knees) and Quinyon Mitchell (shoulder) were full participants. Both are expected to play Sunday.

Here’s the whole report from Thursday:

Did not attend: Te dallas goedert (ankle), t peace johnson (personal matter), c cam jurgens (back)

Limited: WR Britain Covey (Neck)

Full: WR AJ Brown (Knee/Rest/Disease), QB Jalen Hurts (Knee), T Lane Johnson (Knee/Rest), CB Quinyon Mitchell (Shoulder), QB Kenny Pickett (Ribs), Olb Josh Sweat (Ankle/Rest), DT Byron Young (Hamstring)

Jurgens was Pro Bowler in his first season as Eagles’ full -time center and replaced legend Jason Kelce, so it would be a big loss if he can’t play on Sunday. On Thursday, the Pro Bowl left Guard Landon Dickerson worked at the center. While Dickerson has not played much center during his four-year NFL career, he played the center in college and has a good command of the offensive. Tyler Steen replaced Dickerson on the left guard.

If Jurgens can’t play on Sunday, Eagles’ offensive line would probably look like this (from left to right): Jordan Mailata, Tyler Steen, Landon Dickerson, Mekhi Becton, Lane Johnson.

Goedert missed some time this season, but is leading Eagles to receive through the first two games of this after -season. He has 8 catches of 103 yards for the past two weeks after missing seven games in the regular season. He has also been a key wheel in the Eagles’ running game that blocks.

If Goedert can’t play, Backup Grant Calcaterra would be TE1 in this game.

All Eagles listed as limited to starting the week trained Thursday: QB Jalen Hurts (Knee), CB Quinyon Mitchell (shoulder), WR AJ Brown (Knee/Rest), WR Britain Covey (Neck), T Lane Johnson ( knee/rest), olb josh sweat (ankle/rest). Just Covey remained limited.

The two biggest questions after the victory in the division round over Rams were about Hurts and Mitchell. Both are expected to play on Sunday. The next question is about where mobile Hurts will be with the left knee injury. Hurts got his left leg caught under him on Sunday and was limited after the injury.
