‘King of the North’ Nico Carrillo Fights Nabil Anane for Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title on Friday, Live On Sky Sports.

Scottish knockout artist Carrillo takes on towering young talent as he looks to secure his shot at Superlek Kiatmoo9, the kickboxing superstar who knocked out Jonathan Haggerty to win the Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship.

The stacked One 170 card at Bangkok’s iconic Impact Arena features an MMA world title fight and a standout Muay Thai world title fight that will follow Nico Carrillo’s championship opportunity.

Watch live Sky Sports‘YouTube channel from 11.30, with Carrillo vs Anane expected around 3 p.m.

Carrillo enters the ring with an unblemished record in one and highlights reel-worthy knockouts. His aggressive style and power have overwhelmed all of his opponents in the promotion thus far. He has stopped them all within range.

Carrillo was originally set to face reigning champion Superlek on this bill, but his Thai opponent pulled out due to a knee injury. Instead, the winner of this match will become the interim champion and face Superlek for the undisputed crown at a 172 in Japan on March 23.

Anane comes in as a replacement and is no stranger to winning titles, having been the youngest WBC Muay Thai World Champion at just 17 years old in 2022. The Thai-Algerian has since built momentum in the Bantamweight division with a five-fight winning streak. The 20-year-old’s only loss in one has been against the current champion Superlek.

This championship match is a true clash of styles and a battle for supremacy. Carrillo’s relentless power is tested by Anane’s versatility, talent, height and reach.

Fans can expect drama, action and the unexpected when the bell rings in Bangkok, as this isn’t the only electrifying bout on the card, with two more world titles on the line.

Tawanchai vs Superbon: The main event

Tawanchai PK Saenchai, the reigning featherweight Muay Thai champion, headlines the event as he defends his title against the division’s kickboxing champion Superbon.

The pair previously clashed for the Muay Thai Belt in December 2023, with Tawanchai winning via majority decision.

Superbon has since won bouts under both kickboxing and Muay Thai Ruleset. His latest win, a round one knockout over top contender Jo Nattawut, highlighted his stellar form ahead of the World-Title Bout.

However, Superbon will have to overcome Tawanchai’s lightning-quick kicks and outstanding Ring IQ to put off the champion, who is aiming to extend his eight-fight winning streak.

Andrade vs Kwon Won IL: Revenge Match

Fabricio Andrade puts his bantamweight MMA world title on the line for an explosive rematch against South Korea’s Kwon Won IL.

Nicknamed ‘Wonder Boy’, Andrade has delivered a series of dominant performances in MMA, including a first round finish against Kwon Won II in 2022.

The South Korean is looking to avenge that loss and has won all his matches inside the distance since then. His explosive power makes him a formidable challenger to the Brazilian champion.

Freddie Haggerty aims to leave a lasting impression in a championship on Friday’s show.

The British fighter, who is the younger brother of bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty, will fight Jordan Estupinan in a Muay Thai bout on the stacked bill.

Haggerty made his one championship debut last January with a knockout against Thai Fighter Dankalong Sor Dechapan in the Strawweight division. A year later, the 20-year-old has earned himself a “one-to-watch” title as he now has three straight championship wins—all by knockout or technical knockout.

This time Haggerty will move up a division to flyweight against Colombian debutant Jordan Estupinan.

While moving up a weight division may be challenging, his older brother’s high praise suggests it won’t be a problem.

“He’s probably one of the best on the roster in all honesty, technically. His power, he’s like a mini-me,” said Haggerty, who has held titles in two divisions in one.
