Popeyes just dropped a collab teaser with an iconic tequila brand

Would you ever imagine that Popeyes, the fast food restaurant known for its fried Louisiana-style chicken among other Cajun and Creole-inspired dishes would collaborate with a tequila brand? It is also not any tequila mark, but one that is considered to be a top shelf. Popeyes recently shared a very short video clip on his Instagram account, which suggested a collaboration with Don Julio Tequila.

The caption that came with the post read, “The kitchen warms up to the big match. The party starts 1.31.25.” So far, this is the only information released on the upcoming collaboration. However, we can expect something delicious to be on the way as both brands are highly considered their products. (Popeyes’ fried chicken sandwich is better than chick-file-a’sAfter all.)

Since Popeyes does not serve alcohol, we do not have to worry about possible fried tequilashots with chicken flavor. But maybe the chain will offer a new fried chicken taste that incorporates the kick from Don Julio Tequila into the dough. If it’s true this can be a really good thing. The acidity of Tequila helps to dinger the chicken – and as alcohol evaporates when used for cooking at high temperatures – the sweet taste of the tequila’s agave will remain, which would nicely complement the spicy flavor, Popeyes incorporates into its fried chicken recipes.

Popeyes has a history of collaborating with great brands and public persons. By 2022 the chain went along with hip -hop star Megan Thee Stallion to launch, Thee Hottie Sauce. The collaboration extended to co-branded merchandise, which gained widespread media attention and popularity across social media platforms and increased Popeyes’ sales significantly. The chain has also made collaborations with menu items in limited edition like the chicken sandwich with a special sauce from the beloved spice mark, Truff, which again was a hit. Popeyes apparently has his saucal game on lock; Even its Louisiana garlic swing comes with a sauce that is liquid gold.

Popeyes X Don Julio Instagram post text, which suggests this collaboration, launched before the Super Bowl in February, can also signal a potential special campaign for customers buying goods that may include Don Julio Tequila. Popeyes has certainly let us be in excitement for the few remaining days in January. But as our favorite brands throw hard on advertising for big tickets, it’s all part of the fun for fans.
