Padres make trade, acquire former Yankees top prospect from AL Central Squad

The San Diego Padres have finally made a move this winter. The organization acquired right-hander Ron Marinaccio from the Chicago White Sox.

We have acquired RHP Ron Marinaccio from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash consideration.

Marinaccio was designated for assignment Tuesday by the White Sox. Marinaccio never appeared in a major league game for Chicago as he was claimed off waivers by the New York Yankees and was placed on optional assignment.
