Sources – Texans Four Bobby Slowik after 2 Seasons like OC

Houston – The Texans have fired offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik after two years in Houston, a source told ESPN Friday. Houston also fired offensive line coach Chris Strausser and assistant offensive line coach Cole Popovich, according to sources adding that a decision on the rest of the offensive staff will be made when the team hires a new offensive coordinator.

The Texans won AFC South (10-7) in 2024 and reached the divisional round for the second season in a row, but the violation fought all year. Monday after the end of the season, Coach Demeco Ryans said he would take a week to evaluate the staff, and when asked about Slowik’s performance, he was short and did not give a ringing endorsement.

“I generally believe with Bobby, I saw some growth,” Ryans said. “I saw some improvement throughout the year.”

Ryans also mentioned how Texans’ violation was needed to “improve” after a disappointing season when the unit ranked 18 in the scoring (22.1) and 16. In total offense (329 yards per match). The most alarming aspect of the offense was passport protection. Quarterback CJ Stroud took a Juling of 52 sacks (the second most) and was pressed on 38.6% of his dropbacks (third most after the next resort).

What made Stroud’s pressure speed of 38.6% worse was that the time for pressure speed was 2.59, the seventh fastest according to NGS. The passport protection fought with defensive twists and stunts that opposed defense threw on those who led to 52 unblocked pressure (the other most).

As a result, Stroud Statistically regressed from a strong rookie year. He ended 15. In passers -by yards (3,727) and tied to 15. In passers -by touchdowns (20) after having 4,108 yards (eighth in NFL) with 23 Touchdowns (13.) in year 1 in two fewer games. And it’s with having the Pro Bowl teammates in the left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who runs back Joe Mixon and Wideout Nico Collins.

In addition to Stroud, Texans’ violation fought for the big stretches of the year. The second halves were a massive question for the offense as it was on average a league-low 7.5 points in the second half. From week 7 to 12, Texans’ violation did not score an offensive touchdown.

Coming into 2024, there were high hopes for Texans’ violation with Pro Bowl adds from Wideout St. Diggs and Mixon. Diggs tore its ACL in week 8 against Indianapolis Colts, but even with Mixon Rushing in 1,018 Yards always felt the offense challenged, especially in key situations. The offense was 17. In the third downturns (38.9) and 28. In Red Zone Scoring (48.4)

“Overall, offensively, that’s not where we wanted to be,” Ryans said. “There were challenges all year round, that is, every year. You have challenges you have ups and downs where you try to find out the course, who we have and how to make it work. We have to to improve us. ”

Slowik was Ryans’ first offensive rent in 2023 after both spent six years with San Francisco 49ers. In their first season together, Houston thrived offensively, highlighted by the fact that Stroud became the fifth rookie passing for 4,000 meters in one season and led the league in passing yards per year. Fight (274) and Touchdown to Interception Relationships (23: 5), only some Quarterbacks Joe Montana and Tom Brady have achieved.
