The Las Vegas Raiders Ending their third coaching search within the last four years, and has landed one of the most experienced candidates in the market to bring stability to the franchise.

Raiders is prepared to hire former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll as their next head coach, according to several media. Carroll becomes the oldest head coach in the NFL’s history after training his first match with Raiders, but will still look to bring his energetic, cultural -driven approach to Las Vegas.

Carroll’s return to the NFL comes after he spent the 2024 season without training. The campaign in 2025 will be his 19th season with an NFL team with four different franchises, and his experience may prove to be valuable for a Raiders team that needs to change direction.

Here is a look at the biggest winners and losers of Carroll who allegedly joined Raiders.

Winners

The Raiders have struggled to find head coach stability since Jon the gravel withdrew from his position after emails containing racist, homophobic and women-hating remarks he sent while working for ESPN was leaked to the media. Carroll gives them one of the NFL’s best cultural builders and a proven winner.

Carroll has a career record of 170-120-1 through his 18 seasons as NFL head coach and won the Super Bowl 48 with Seahawks. He may not immediately bring Raiders to such heights, but Carroll’s team has written a winning record in 11 of his last 12 seasons. In comparison, Raiders have only 11 winning campaigns since 1984, so this employment certainly raises their bottom.

Pete Carroll

Carroll did not look like he was ready to finish training in 2024 NFL Offseason. Here’s what he said about his coach future at Seattle Sports ‘Brock & Salk Show just two days before stepping back as Seahawks’ head coach.

“I am planning to train this team, I told you that I love these guys,” said Carroll. “That’s what I want to do and see how far we can reach.”

As such, it is not surprising that Carroll took the chance to return to the NFL. Still, it wasn’t clear whether he would have an opportunity as he should be the oldest coach in the league’s history when he returns to the sidelines. Now he has it, and to build another once proud program on the West Coast seems to fit Carroll’s unique coaching skills perfectly.

Tom Brady

Brady joined Raiders as part -time owner in 2024. He continued to help them land one of the most documented coaching candidates on the market in Carroll.

It originally looked like Brady and the Raiders would get a difficult employment cycle after Ben Johnson decided to join Chicago Bears Despite interest from Las Vegas. Brady and Co. Come back quickly and to have a successful veteran like Carroll should help restore Raiders ‘image and hopefully put an end to Mark Davis’ ever -tingling coaching carousel.

Wilson wanted to join the Raiders during the 2024 NFL Offseason, according to NFL Networks Ian Rapoport. Could he have a chance to do so in 2025 considering his relationship with Carroll?

There were reports of tension between Wilson and Carroll late in the quarterback period with Seahawks. However, Jeff Howe from The Athletic reports that the two parties have “corrected fences” since their rocky bride; And Wilson said in 2024 that he had a “good relationship” with Carroll and flew to Seattle to celebrate the coach withdrew from his coaching position.

“He was like a father figure to me,” said Wilson by Carroll on I am Athlete podcast. “For me it was to return to see Pete because of the love that was there. I had no hatred in my heart. Just love. Just love in my heart.”

With that in mind, Las Vegas looks like a more realistic landing site for 36-year-old Wilson. Raiders need a break and Carroll’s story with Wilson can make him the ideal candidate for the job.

Losers

Titans owns the election # 1 in 2025 NFL drafts and probably hopes they can swap it to a quarterback-cramping team for a lot of elections. Their options for doing so may have fallen with one after Carroll’s employment.

Seahawks never swapped the first round of the NFL draft while Carroll was in Seattle. Nor have they never drafted a quarterback before the third round during his tenure and were willing to trust on players like Matt Flynn and Geno Smith as relatively unprecedented starters. It’s hard to imagine Carroll changing his philosophy unless he and new general manager John Spytek fall in love with one of the 2025 NFL draft’s best quarterbacks.

2025 nfl Draft QBS

Carroll’s Draft history is bad news for the 2025 NFL draft class in general, which is already considered weak as quarterback. Again, Carroll and Spytek could potentially fall in love with a top quarterback, but if not, they are more likely to use their early choices in a different position. Then they would target a mid-round signal call to participate in competition with a veteran, like Wilson.

With that in mind, it seems unlikely to dream that Raiders will be a third top-10 landing site for quarterbacks. It will leave fewer landing spaces for hopeful quarterback views in the first round.

Cowboys allegedly reached out to Carroll about their head coach opening, per Fort Worth Star Telegram. Of course, they did not land him, which made Carroll another high -profile candidate who will not join the cowboys.

As Carroll, Johnson and Aaron Glenn are all inaccessible, Dallas’ advanced opportunities to replace Mike McCarthy look smaller. The team is increasingly focusing on Brian Schottenheimer as his top candidate, but it won’t do much to inspire cowboys fans. It will make you miss Carroll, so shortly after the interest in him was first reported, there was even more.
