Dwight Howard may have an idea to solve Los Angeles Lakers’ depth problems at the center.

After Laker’s Center Anthony Davis said the team needs “another big one” so he can slip over to Power Forward, Howard went to X to refer to the problem and claim that a solution “is not so difficult.”

It’s not that hard to find a center

Although it could be a reference to the available opportunities in the trading market, Howard’s previous experience as a Lakers-Center could signal that he has at least a superficial interest in the position.

Howard played last in the NBA in 2021-22 with Lakers in what was his third trip with the franchise. He spent 2022-23 with Taoyuan Leopards in the T1 League in Taiwan and did not play in 2023-24 despite interest in Australia, the Philippines and Mexico. He has not played yet this season, but has not officially retired.

Howard had an average of 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.8 blockages in his 18-SaSon’s NBA career and became eight times All-Star, five times rebound champion and three times the Defense of the Year.

With Howard far past his best opportunities and quality opportunities such as Jonas Valanciunas and Nikola VUUCEVIC, among others, lingering in the trading market, it’s hard to see any scenario where the 39-year-old soon dresses in purple and gold.
