Shane Beamer insists on extending the contract through the 2030 season

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – Shane Beamer, the University of South Carolina’s (USC) football coach, will continue to lead the Gamecocks for several years to come.

USC announced that Beamer signed a contract that extends his role through the 2030 season.

“The culture and commitment to excellence that Coach Beamer has built into our football program shows that we are headed in the right direction and on a strong upward trajectory,” Athletic Director Jeremiah Donati said. “Coach Beamer has made clear his desire to be at the University of South Carolina, and this extension demonstrates our collective support for him as the leader of our football program.”

Beamer has a 29-22 record and has taken the Gamecocks to bowl games in four seasons. The Gamecocks finished with a 9-4 record this season, including a school-record four wins against ranked opponents.

The coach earned SEC Coach of the Year honors from multiple sources and was named the Bobby Dodd National Coach of the Week following South Carolina’s big upset win against Texas A&M.

“I am proud to represent the University of South Carolina and to lead our football program as head coach,” Beamer said. “Thank you to President Amiridis, Thad Westbrook and the Board of Directors, Ray Tanner and Jeremiah Donati for their trust and support. As I have said before, this is my dream job. My family and I love being here. We have accomplished a lot on and off course over the past four years, but we are not satisfied. There is more to do and we are just getting started.”

In addition to the extension, Beamer received a new salary of $8.15 million, which will increase by $100,000 each year through 2030.
