East India dock Is second favorite for the Triumph Hurdle and we all expect him to win this – and his price is probably right. Sauvignon and stencil could be useful and I’m happy to see the race.

13:30 Doncaster – Nell’s son

I’m on Nell’s son For Nicky Richards. He’s 10 years old, but he hasn’t driven a ton. He has only run over two miles twice, but he has won on both occasions. His form when winning in front of Matata last time at Kelso is very strong and he has only gone up 5kg in the weights.

It’s probably true that Ginny’s Destiny is at the top of the market, but I’m having a hard time deciding these races. I have landed on Il ridoto Like an every-way cry for Paul Nicholls. He is a difficult horse as he does not finish his races as well as he should. Freddie Gingell makes the trip again and he claims 3kg. He impressed when he won over course and distance in November. He is 2kg lower than his last run in December and he was shaping well. At least he can hit the frame.

Western Knight is short enough in the betting and he could go and win this, but I’ll take a chance Ma Shantou. He is on a hat-trick and stepping up the trip to three miles might see a slight improvement from him. It’s not a strong fancy, but he could be a value pick against the favourite.

Lhomme Presse is very talented, but I never really warmed to him. You can pick holes in the form and I can’t have him for the price. I’ll take a chance Gentleman’s game. It’s a tentative pick as he has to shed weight, but he’s a fair price. I’m not steaming into it as it will be a tactical race, but I’m keeping Darragh O’Keeffe and Mouse Morris on the side.

14:40 Doncaster – Kateira

Jetara wasn’t disgraced last time, but I don’t like the fact that Jessica Harrington hasn’t had many runners. I’m with you Kateira For Skelton’s. She is a really good mare and she stays well. She is back in Mares’ company and she has a great chance.

This is a race track gallop to Constitution Hill As his short price shows. He goes and wins this, then it’s full steam ahead for the festival in March. He won’t be under pressure here and hopefully he travels well and jumps well. I can see his price drifting on the day in the Champions Hurdle. He might go off 6/4 rather than odds on.

I really want to Strong leader And he had to be the favorite. There isn’t much depth in this race and I’m eager to take on Crambo. He doesn’t really back up his runs and I would have gone straight to Cheltenham with him. Strong Leader’s form is solid and his last run was too bad to be true. He has had a wind up and it is his race to lose.
