The highlights of the match, repetition from the sec-fight

Just three weeks after a disappointing SEC debut in Texas A&M, Texas Basketball tried to win revenge against his bitter rival in the state of Saturday at the Moody Center.

The Langhorn (14-6, 3-4 sec) picked up their second win over a ranked opponent with a 70-69 win after a late layup of Tramon Mark against No. 13 Texas A&M (15-5, 4-3).

Read below for highlights and a summary.

Texas Vs Texas A&M Score Updates

1 2 T.
Texas A&M 43 26 69
Texas 25 45 70

Tramon Mark beats a layup at the buzzer, and Texas gets an almost miraculous victory without Arthur Kaluma.

Three Johnson beats another 3 and has a career-High 30, and Texas has possession with a chance to win.

Three Johnson bury a 3’s from the corner, and the beginner keeps Texas inside the game with 27 points.

An offensive rebound – Remember them, UT fans? – By Texas Forward Jayson Kent, who goes to the line with a chance to cut it into one possession. Texas A&M is 2 of 6 on penalties, a great story, especially if Agggies gives up the lead.

A rare technique to have too many players on the field for A&M leads to two more penalties to three Johnson. The first -year student then follows a 3. He has 22 points and is slowly grabbing this game.

Aggies shoots only 30% from the floor in the second half, and they only beat Texas 13-11 on the boards after the break. Three Johnson shoots 4-AF-13 from the floor, but he comes to the error line, where he is 6-of-6 with a game-high 15 points. Does Longhorns have a late increase in them?

A Dagger 3-Pointer from A & M’s Wade Taylor IV from about 25 feet right at the shot-watch-buzzer. It’s the kind of shot that kills rallies.

Kadin Shedrik gets an offensive rebound, and Longhorns has a chance to make things interesting down the stretch.

Give Texas Credit because the horns are scrapped. And A&M is finally cooling. Julian Larry disks off with Ze’rok Onyema for one and one, and the Texas fans start waking up.

Aggies did not cool off in the half. They have made both of their 3-point attempt and are 10-of-17 from long distance to the game. One thing to note: striker Devon Pryor starts for Texas over Tramon Mark in the second half. 6-7 pryor gives Texas more length to help on the boards, and Mark was quiet in the first half with a basket, a board and an assist.

This match started poorly for Texas with the news that striker Arthur Kaluma would miss the fight with a knee injury. And it has only gotten worse. Texas A&M has made eight out of 15 3-Pointers, surpasses Texas 24-11 and has 13 second-chance points. Manny Obaseki leads A&M with 12 points. Three Johnson leads Texas with six points. A bright spot for out: Guard Julian Larry has 2 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists from the bench.

At this point, Texas coach Rodney Terry is missing answers. AGGIES makes 54% of their 3-point shots, surpass Texas 21-9 and holds Longhorns to 39.1% shooting.

AGGIES has made six of 10 3-point shots and has a 19-7 edge on the glass. It’s almost surprising that Texas is within 11. Three Johnson has scored six points on 3-of-6 shooting, but no other longhorn has made more than one bucket.

Back-to-back threes from Agggies’ Wade Taylor IV, and Texas coach Rodney Terry takes a timeout. Given A & M’s large edge on the glass, UT cannot afford to fall much further backwards.

Devon Pryor comes in and puts a smooth baseline jumper to Longhorns. Texas needs something from everyone to beat Agggies without Kaluma. A statistic we will see the whole match: A&M with 14 rebounds and six offensive boards compared to five boards in Texas.

Slow start for both teams, but lots of defensive energy. Ze’rik Onyema is already in the game, and Texas will need a great effort from 6-8 bangs with Arthur Kaluma on the sidelines of a knee injury. Someone has to grab the boards.

Striker Kadin Shedrick (6-11) and the guards three Johnson (6-6), Tramon Mark (6-5) and Jordan Pope (6-2) start with Kent (6-8) for Texas. AGGIES will go with their usual five of Guards Zeric Phelps (6-4), Hayden Hefner (6-6) and Wade Taylor IV (6-1) with attackers Solomon Washington (6-7) and Henry Coleman III (6) -8).

Texas striker Arthur Kaluma, the team’s leading rebounds (8.2 per match) and second-shipping goal scorer (13.8), are out for the match against Texas A&M. Kaluma has breastfed a sore left knee over the past few matches. Jayson Kent, a transfer from Indiana State, will move into the starting lineup instead of Kaluma, according to Texas officials. This marks the first start for Kent this season in Texas and his 63. Career start.
