Where to watch WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event: Free live stream, time, channel, match card

For the second time in two months, WWE will host one Saturday night’s main event program, this time on Saturday, January 25 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.

The live event is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM EST and will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock. Fans who want to watch can do so for free FuboTVwhich offers a free trial and $30 off your first month, or DirecTV Streamwhich offers a free trial period. SlingTV does not offer a free trial but has other promotional offers available. Fans can watch a replay of the event after it airs, available to stream through Peacock.

There are four matches scheduled for this Saturday Night’s Main Event, and three of them are championship matches. A contract will also be signed for the Undisputed WWE Championship Ladder Match at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, February 1st between champion Cody Rhodes and challenger Kevin Owens. Sean Michaels will moderate the contract signing.

Both the World Heavyweight Championship and the Women’s World Championship are up for grabs on Saturday, as well as the Intercontinental Championship.

Gunther will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso, while Rhea Ripley will again defend the World Women’s Championship against Nia Jax. Sheamus will challenge for the IC title against current champion Bron Breaker. And the card will also feature a match between Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman.

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon reaches agreement with SEC over undisclosed settlement agreements

The Securities and Exchange Commission says it has settled charges against former WWE CEO Vince McMahon that he failed to disclose to the sports entertainment company’s board and others that he signed two settlement agreements worth $10.5 million with two women so that they would not should disclose potential claims against himself and WWE.

McMahon resigned from WWE’s parent company in January 2024 after a former employee filed a federal lawsuit accusing him and another former executive of serious sexual misconduct. At the time, McMahon stepped down from his position as executive chairman of the board of WWE’s parent company, TKO Group Holdings. He continued to deny wrongdoing after the lawsuit was filed.

McMahon stepped down as WWE CEO in 2022 amid an investigation into allegations matching those in the lawsuit.

The SEC said Friday that one agreement was signed in 2019 and the other in 2022. One agreement required McMahon to pay a former employee $3 million in exchange for the former employee’s agreement not to disclose her relationship with McMahon and her release of potential claims against WWE and McMahon.

The second agreement required McMahon to pay a former WWE independent contractor $7.5 million in exchange for the independent contractor’s agreement not to disclose her allegations against McMahon and her release of potential claims against WWE and McMahon, the SEC said.

The commission said that by failing to disclose the agreements to WWE’s board of directors, legal department, auditors, financial reporting staff or accountant, McMahon circumvented WWE’s system of internal accounting controls and caused material misstatements in the company’s 2018 and 2021 financial statements.

The SEC’s ruling found that because the payments required in the 2019 and 2022 agreements were not recorded, WWE overstated its 2018 net income by approximately 8% and its 2021 net income of approx. 1.7%.

Upon learning of the settlement agreements, WWE issued a restatement of its financial statements in August 2022.

“Business executives cannot enter into material agreements on behalf of the business they serve and withhold that information from the company’s controls and auditor,” Thomas P. Smith Jr., associate regional director of the New York Regional Office, said in a statement.

The SEC said McMahon, without admitting or denying its findings, agreed to cease violating certain provisions, pay a civil penalty of $400,000 and repay WWE approximately $1.3 million.

“Today brings to a close nearly three years of investigations by various government agencies. There has been much speculation about what exactly the government was investigating and what the outcome would be. As today’s decision shows, much of that speculation was misleading and deceptive,” McMahon said in a prepared statement. “At the end of the day, there was nothing in this other than minor accounting mistakes that I made several years ago while I was the CEO of WWE. I’m excited to put it now all this behind me.”

Manhattan federal prosecutors declined to comment.

Ann Callis, an attorney for Janel Grant, a former WWE employee who filed a lawsuit against the company and McMahon accusing him of sexual abuse and human trafficking, said in a statement that the SEC’s charges are confirmation that McMahon broke the law to cover up his behavior.

“The SEC’s charges prove that the NDA Vince McMahon forced Ms. Grant to sign violates the law, and therefore her case must be heard in court,” Callis said. “As prosecutors for the Southern District of New York continue their criminal investigation, we look forward to presenting new evidence in our civil case.”

The Associated Press usually does not name people who make allegations of sexual assault unless they come forward publicly, which Grant did.

McMahon has denied Grant’s claims.

McMahon was the leader and most recognizable face of WWE for decades. When he bought the then World Wrestling Federation from his father in 1982, wrestling matches took place in small venues and appeared on local cable channels. WWE matches are now held in professional sports stadiums, and the company’s weekly live TV show, “Raw,” made its debut on Netflix on Monday, where it had 4.9 million views globally and an average of 2.6 million households in the U.S. according to VideoAmp.
