Does LeBron James Play tonight? Why the Lakers star was downgraded due to the injury report vs. Warriors

LeBron James and Stephen Curry show up tonight, but the former’s injury designation puts this highly expected fight in danger

NBA Rival Week is the main line of a match between the NBA’s leading goal scorer of all time and the best 3-point shooter ever when Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors meet. James and Curry are 12-12 head-to-head during the regular season. Curry has a 17-11 edge in the after-season, but since he came to Lakers, James is 10-8 against the sharpener.

These two teams last played Christmas Day, a classic that Los Angeles won with 115-113. James ended with 31 points, 10 assists and four rebounds. Curry got 38 points, eight 3s and six assists.

As tonight’s matchup approaches, there is a growing concern that James’ injury designation can deprive NBA fans one of the last matches between two of the NBA’s very big ones.

Here is a complete overview of James’ status.

Does LeBron James Play tonight?

James is available to play against Warriors, advertised Lakers coach JJ Redick Pregame.

James has been listed on Los Angeles’ injury report for most of the season due to a foot injury. On his way into tonight’s matchup, he was listed as likely due to the left foot injury management. However, only hours before the Tipoff announced Lakers that James had been downgraded to questionable.

Players are more likely to play than not if they are labeled with a questionable term for the injury report, but in light of how James was downgraded today, he may have suffered a setback or worsened his foot injury under Los Angeles’ shoot round.

James has an average of 23.6 points, 8.9 assists and 7.7 rebounds of 51.1 percent shooting from the field and 39.4 percent from 3 in his 22nd season.
