If you’re hoping to see the Savannah Bananas when they visit Busch Stadium in April, you might need a little luck.

The Bananas, baseball’s answer to the Harlem Globetrotters, visit St. Louis on April 4 and 5, and demand here is higher than any other city among the 40 the team will visit in 2025, a team official said this week.

There were more than 160,000 entries in the first 72 hours of the lottery for St. Louis Banana Ball tickets, the team said this week. The lottery list here was the largest of any city on the team’s 2025 tour, which includes several Major League Baseball Parks and even some major pro and college football venues.

Each attendee can purchase up to five tickets, and a “small allocation” of tickets was set aside for Cardinal season-ticket hurdles, so suffice it to say, demand greatly exceeds supply.

The process of acquiring a ticket began months ago. Fans had to enter a lottery last October. On Wednesday, those selected in the lottery were emailed to go through a verification process that includes submitting a photo of their government identification as well as taking a selfie.

Fans who received a verification email must complete this process by Friday evening.

Then next Wednesday, those who have been verified will be randomly assigned a time slot to buy tickets, but the team warns that tickets could sell out before your time slot arrives.

The rigorous verification process is important for the team, which has sold out every game it has ever played.

“We want to make sure real tickets end up in the hands of real fans,” a team official said in an email this week. “We are confident that bots and scalpers are unable to get their hands on tickets through this verification process.”

Tickets are $40 to $75 with no additional fees. The team turned down a lucrative offer from a ticket broker for double face value for an allotment of tickets from every game on the tour, an official confirmed this week.

Dubbed the greatest show in sports, the Barnstorming Bananas feature several crazy rules. There is no bunting – it’s a draft. There are no walks. An out is recorded if a fan catches a foul ball. Batters can steal first base.

The team has featured a dancing first base coach, the first ever baseball player to wear stiltsand a Dad Bod cheerleading team, among other stunts designed to maximize entertainment value
