Sparks acquiring All-Star Kelsey Plum in 3-team Blockbuster Trade

Kelsey Plum are on the way to Sparks as part of a three-way trade that will send Jewell loyd to Las Vegas Aces, according to a person who is familiar with the deal.

Sparks swapped the election # 2 in the draft and Li Yueru to Seattle. Sparks also received the election # 9. The aces got the 13th election in the draft. The person stated on condition of anonymity on Sunday night because no official deal has been published.

Plum helped ACES win consecutive WNBA championships in 2022 and 2023. She was appointed as the team’s franchisee on January 11. She had an average of 17.8 points and 4.2 assists last season.

LOYD requested a barter last month from Seattle, where she had spent her entire career since she was drafted by Storm in 2015. The 31-year-old had an average of 19.7 points and 4.5 rebounds last season and is a SEX DOBLE ALL-STAR. Loyd helped Seattle win two WNBA championships in 2018 and 2020 as well as a scoring title in 2023.

She was the league’s rookie of the year in 2015.

ESPN first reported the deal.

Las Vegas still has more room to make pickups in the Free Agency to add to the core group LOYD, Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young and the reigning MVP a’ja Wilson.

Teams could start talking to free agents on the last Tuesday, but cannot officially sign them before February 1st.

Acquiring Plum provides a veteran guard for Spark’s young core of Rickeea Jackson and Cameron Brink and reunites her with her former Ace teammate Dearica Hamby. It also brings Plum closer to home as she grew up in Poway, California.

Like Loyd, Plum had spent his entire career with the Las Vegas franchise since she was first drafted in 2017 when the team was still in San Antonio.
