Quinn Hughes scores twice to help Vancouver Canucks snap Washington Capitals’ Win Streg

Vancouver-Quinn Hughes scored twice and Vancouver Canucks beat League-leading Washington Capitals 2-1 on Saturday.

The performance expanded Hughes’ point streak to five games with five goals and two assists across the stretch.

Defender Filip Hronek contributed a few assists to Canucks (21-17-10), and the Kevin Lankin stopped 32 of the 33 shots he was facing.

The lonely capitals goals of the Pierre-Luc Dubois came on the 12: 31 mark in the third period when he knocked in a loose puck from the crisis for his 10th of the season.

Charlie Lindgren made 23 savings for a Washington (33-11-5) page that saw his six-game victory cracked. The result marked the first regulatory loss of the capitals since December 29.

It was a much needed victory for Vancouver that came in with losses in four of its last five excursions and stays three points behind Calgary flames to Western Conference’s second wild-card site.
