FOX Broadcaster hits on Tom Brady amid NFC title matchup

Legendary quarterback Tom Brady experienced plenty of glory throughout his 23-year playing career.

However, the seven-time Super Bowl champion and three-time league MVP endured a humbling experience during Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles-Washington Commanders NFC title game. Brady, now the lead analyst for FOX Sports, was forced to recall an all-time low: Super Bowl LII.

“Nick Foles in the building. Super Bowl MVP. Led to that Super Bowl win. You know he made that play?” Kevin Burkhardt said to Brady during the live broadcast as the camera panned to the Foles in attendance.

Brady’s New England Patriots fell to Foles and the Eagles, 41-33, seven years ago. The loss prevented Brady’s dynasty from winning a three-peat, as New England returned to the Super Bowl the following season, defeating the Los Angeles Rams. It wasn’t the most devastating defeat of the 47-year-old’s illustrious career, but it was still worthy of lingering in Brady’s mind, now co-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

“Nick, I don’t hate you,” Brady said. “I’m just jealous of you. You caught it, I didn’t.”

Brady’s comment referenced a third-and-5 play New England ran in the second quarter of Super Bowl LII. Running back James White flipped the ball to wideout Danny Amdenola off a pass while Brady fumbled in anticipation of a pass. Brady, though dropped the wide open pass it would have given the Patriots favorable field position and a chance to go ahead and change history as we know it.

Meanwhile, Foles seized his chance for a reception on the famous “Philly Special” play that came just before halftime.
