Jayden Daniels lets his acting do the talking

When you’re a star quarterback, you quickly draw the ire of opposing fans. That’s exactly where Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is these days.

Daniels broke several rookie records and led Washington on the road to upset victories over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions. Washington fans love Daniels, buying his jerseys and other memorabilia. But other teams, not so much.

In last week’s win over the Lions, Daniels heard plenty of trash talk from a raucous Detroit crowd. It didn’t bother him. In the end, Daniels got the last laugh, passing for 299 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the game with a 122.9 QB rating and an incredible 91.8 QBR.

As for that trash talk, Daniels lets others do it. He lets his game do the talking.

“Nah, it wasn’t the same, no back and forth,” Daniels said when asked if the trash talk from fans annoys him.

“You know, they talk right. They trash (trash) and I didn’t really say anything. It was like just letting my game do the talking.”

Daniels is built differently. Nothing surprises him. On Sunday, he faces his biggest challenge yet, facing the Eagles in front of a raucous, sold-out Philadelphia crowd.

You’d think they’d say some not-so-nice things to Daniels. He doesn’t care. He will stand on his act.
