Netflix confirms a Season 2 live-action release date for later in 2025

Netflix recently announced a partnership with LEGO, confirming the release date for A piece Season 2 live-action for later in 2025. While they are yet to reveal a trailer for the sequel, they have previously shared several teasers and new cast members.

The first look at Chopper and Drum Island was revealed in September, along with a bunch of other behind-the-scenes footage. At the end of the set tour, Jeff Ward even said the year of A piece Season 2 live-action premiere and it seemed clear he said 2025 despite the censoring.

A late 2025 release could mean December and the Christmas season, which A piece Fans know that the Tromle Island theme is pretty neat. Chopper’s birthday is also December 24th, which is celebrated as Christmas Eve.

The live-action series stars Matt Owens (Agents of Shield, Luke Cage) and Steven Maeda (The X-Files, CSI: Miami, Lost) serve as writers, executive producers and showrunners. The creator, Eiichiro Oda, is also among the show’s executive producers and consistently confirms that he is deeply involved. The new cast for Season 2 includes:

The first season debuted on August 31, topping Netflix’s global English TV chart with 18.5 million total views, 140.1 million hours watched, and an average runtime of 7:34 hours. It maintained its top position in the 2nd week as well, marking a huge success for the adaptation.

Producers previously said the sequel’s production could last between 12 to 18 months after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended. The strike ended on November 9, 2023, while the second season officially began production on July 1, 2024.
