NFL Announces Big Andy Reid News during the NFL Playoffs

All Kansas City is fully focused on Chiefs’ AFC Championship Matchup with Buffalo Bills on Sunday, although NFL recently released awards for the prestigious honors that the league gives out on an annual basis.

Despite Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones’ respective individual brilliance, neither the finalist of the MVP nor the defensive player of the year. In fact, no Chiefs player received any award nominations.

This does not mean that Kansas City was completely cut off. Andy Reid was one of five finalists for the AP Coach of the Year, and it’s hard to argue against the huge job he has done this season.

Despite dealing with a number of injuries to both sides of the ball, Reid quietly led the managers to a 15-2 record and # 1 seed in AFC. This may be the best job he has ever done everything that has been considered and Kansas City has successfully navigated media hysterics to put himself in a position for three-peat.

Reid has only one Coach of the Year award in his famous career. It came with Philadelphia Eagles, and surprisingly, Reid has never won the honor in Kansas City. He is widely recognized as the league’s best coach, but it doesn’t seem to do anything for voters.

Dan Campbell, Sean Payton, Kevin O’Connell and Dan Quinn are the other finalists. It is widely assumed that the price is o’Connells to lose, although no one suggests that the Minnesota Vikings’ coach is better than Reid.

Not that any of this matters to Reid or Chiefs. They are focused on winning the Super Bowls, something they have done quite successfully in recent years. Kansas City enters Sunday’s AFC title game is +210 to hoist another Lombardi Trophy on Fanduel Sportsbook.

Should Chiefs win it all, but Reid is not honored with the coach of the year? It feels like big red will be fine with it.
