We are two weeks away from NFL’s biggest event of the year – Super Bowl! Kansas City Chiefs faces Philadelphia Eagles in the big game after winning their respective conference titles on Sunday.

For Chiefs, this is a chance to do history as the two-time defense masters are trying to become the first team to win the Super Bowl three years in a row. This is also the team’s fifth trip to the Super Bowl at six years, with Kansas City won the title in 2024, 2023 (against Philadelphia) and 2020 and lost to Tampa Bay in 2021. Chiefs also won the Super Bowl 4 after 1969 season.

Meanwhile, Eagles go to the big game for the second time in three years and third time since 2017. Philadelphia has only won one Super Bowl in four previous visits. It came in 2017 when Eagles beat Tom Brady’s New England Patriots, 41-33, behind the heroics of Quarterback Nick Foles. The franchise won a couple of NFL championships in the pre-Super Bowl era that went back-to-back in 1948-49.

When and where is the Super Bowl?

This year’s Super Bowl will be played at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans, on February 9th. Kickoff is scheduled for 18:30.

The stadium has hosted seven former Super Bowls (1978, 1981, 1986, 1990, 1997, 2002 and 2013), Six NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Fours (1982, 1987, 1993, 2003, 2012 and 2022) and Wrestlemania twice (2014 2018) as well as other sporting events and concerts.

Golden Globe winner and multi-genre musician Jon Batiste sings the national anthem. The 38-year-old artist won a Grammy for this year’s album in 2022. Thrombone Shorty and Christian singer Lauren Daigle will collaborate on “America the Beautiful”, while Ledisi will perform “lift every voice and sing.”
