In the north ArizonaWhile still cold, the low temperatures should be less cool than the previous days – in the teenage years and 20s instead of single -digit.

Expect these temperatures to peak before sunset at 5:53 on Saturday and 5:54 on Sundays.

Rain and snow next week?

Dig deeper:

All eyes are directed at one Winter storm expected to develop this weekend along the west coast. The system will fall in from the north and run down California. As it moves across California, it will bring some much needed rain to areas affected by the natural fires. This storm system will then slowly trace to the east.

Latest data suggests a slightly slower timeline that brings rain and snow into northwestern Arizona starting around Sunday night. The moisture should spread east over Arizona on Monday, giving the valley a chance for rain and high country a chance of snow. The system then passes very slowly over Arizona to Tuesday and Wednesday, which will result in lingering scattered rain/snow showers.

For Phoenix, the current forecast is a 30 % chance of showers on Monday and 20 % on Tuesday with an isolated chance on Wednesday. Although it is too early for official snow views, it seems that at least one empty accumulating snow is possible in our higher heights, as in Flagstaff.

The storm will also bring cool air to the state. After reaching the upper 60s on Sundays, Phoenix is expected to limit in the low to the middle 60s on Monday and the upper 50s for the low 60s Tuesday and Wednesday.
