Lyft responds to the Detroit Woman filing trial that claimed the driver refused her turn because she was ‘too big’

Lyft has answered after a Detroit woman brought a lawsuit against the riding hare company and said a driver refused her service because she was “too big” to fit into his car.

A spokesperson for the company said they cannot comment on pending litigation but released the following statement to Local 4:

“Lyft condemns unequivocally all forms of discrimination – we believe in a society where everyone is treated with equal respect and mutual kindness. Our social guidelines and Terms of Service prohibit explicit harassment or discrimination. “

This comes after the Detroit woman Dajua Mixture said she was denied a trip from Lyft because of her weight, causing her to file a trial.

Mix caught the incident on video and published it on her social media site, which has been shared thousands of times.

According to the video, mix paid Lyft for a trip from her residence to a party at home with her cousin.

About 10-15 minutes later, a Lyft driver arrived in a Mercedez Benz Sedan.

Mixture went towards Lyft -driver’s vehicle, and the Lyft driver locked his doors and started driving away.

She asked the driver what he was doing and the driver told her she was too big to get into his car.

“According to the law, it is nothing else to deny any transport because of their weight because of their weight than to deny any transport based on their race or religion.” said attorney Jon Marko. “Discrimination of any kind should never be tolerated in our community.”

The driver claimed that mixing was too large to fit into the back seat of his vehicle and that his tire could not support her weight.

The Lyft driver also said he had this problem in the past and that obese people need to order Lyft XLS.

Despite mixing the Lyft driver that she could fit into the back seat, he kept his doors locked and left.

“To deny any transport based on their weight is not only illegal but dangerous,” said lawyer Zach Runyan. “Imagine the consequences if Mrs. Mix was unable to seek shelter after the driver left her stranded. This could have ended even worse than it did. “
