Trump -Administration offers federal workers a buyout to resign

President Donald Trump’s administration offers federal workers the chance to take a “postponed resignation” with a severance package of about eight months of salary and benefits.

A senior official told NBC News that they expect 5% -10% of federal workforce to stop, which they estimate could lead to around $ 100 billion in savings.

All federal employees full time are eligible, except members of the military, employees of the US postal service, positions related to immigration enforcement and national security and other jobs excluded by agencies.

“US taxpayers pay for wages for the federal government employees, and therefore deserve employees who work on their behalf who actually show up to work in our wonderful federal buildings, also paid for by taxpayers,” said White House press secretary in the White House Karoline Leavitt in A statement. “If they do not want to work in the office and help to make America well again, they are free to choose another working line, and the Trump administration will provide a very generous payment of 8 months.”

Axios reported first The buyout offer.
