Ticketmaster settles trial over fees

Ticketmaster, the online ticket giant, recently decided a class case that led to significant financial remuneration for about one million Canadians who bought tickets in the race stem from accusations of misleading award practice against the company.

The trial was speared by Crystal Watch, who alleged Ticketmaster dealt with unreasonable “drip prices.” This practice that involved the addition of unexpected fees to ticket prices violated the law of consumer protection and business practices. Despite never admitting wrongdoing, Ticketmaster accepted to settle the case without going to trial.
