Example: Denver Nuggets Travel to New York to meet Knicks

Denver nuggets is dizzy into Madison Square Garden tonight to meet the New York Knicks. Denver has lost a few sorry for defensive performances in a row, while Knicks are winners of four equal. Nikola Jokic had another triple double in the loss to Chicago Bulls on Monday night, but no one at Nuggets seems to want to play defense right now. After a really nice basketball stretch against some wounded and overmatches troops, Denver returns to Earth and has to face the notion that the second world overgrazing when the jokes are on the floor does not solve everything if they do nothing other.

Both troops are 7-3 in their last ten, but Denver is tied with lakers in the loss column in the Western Conference position, and has only a three-match lead in eighth place out west-they have to start playing with a certain Pressing character. Knicks on the other hand look rejuvenated after their hard stretches and knock on the door to second place in the east as they stand a game behind Celtics. There is plenty to play for in those few weeks before the All Star Break – here hope that Denver remembers it tonight.

The three things

The case to look at: Pride

Look, we can talk XS and us all we want, but if the nuggets are not interested in playing hard on both sides of the ball, there is not a gameplan on the ground that can overcome it. Denver has always had an intermittent engine when it comes to defense, while Knicks is sanded as hard on the side of the floor as their knees avoid occasionally. Coach Michael Malone and Tom Thibodeau were both on Jeff van Gundy’s staff back on the day, and both coaches will run their guys in the ground, but Malone has an offensive -oriented team that doesn’t always enjoy the dirty work. As Malone says, however, he should not have to train effort and hopefully pin himself in two games in the move and face a team that properly humiliated Denver on his home ground to the tune of a 145-118 beatdown earlier this season – Want nuggets in the right mindset for this matchup. If not, this could quickly become embarrassing as Knicks has put 140+ in their last two matches, against Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings. Denver will have to put the work in to avoid being a trophy for the MSG quantity.

The case to remember: Math is simple, execution is harder

Neither knicks nor nuggets take many triangles. New York is 25. In attempted 35 a game and Denver is 30. With only 31 attempts. However, they are both top-5 in percentage-they make them they take. Knicks made 19-of-36 against Denver last time, and it’s hard to beat a team that makes 50% of its triangles. Denver has to shut off for shooters better; Bulls turned them on behind the arch on Monday, and each team that acts as a volume cutter against the nugget’s three-point defense seems to be doing very well. Karl-Anthony Towns comes motivated to Nikola Jokic-It is he always. Nuggets will dog Jamal Murray to try to get him to give up the ball. Julian Strawther cannot be scoreless as the only real bench shooter and Michael Porter Jr. have to respond to physically with buckets instead of excuses. Aaron Gordon cannot pull the leg around the circumference defense, and both Christian Braun and Peyton Watson have to defend as hard as they are at least defended.

But it’s about execution. In the early moments and the deceased, the nuggets have to perform their plan on both sides of the ball. New York looks the candle and bushy now that Thibs has expanded his rotation to more of a nine-man, and it’s up to Denver to match that energy and make the math harder on knicks actually all night long.

The case to bet: Denver + 3

I don’t expect knicks to blow up nuggets. Denver on the road is never a sure effort against a good team that Knicks absolutely is, but pride should come in at some point. Denver was in a groove and then ran into a Timberwolves team that just harassed them and a bull’s team that made its deep shots. Denver jogged through these performances relaxed – I think MSG will bring out their competitive brand. If you get the points, take them, because on +3 it is the places that just give KNICKS the standard home border benefit. If they think it’s basically evenly, then bet on MVP, I say – and hope everyone gets anger out early.
