Virginia Beach, Va. – A gas line fracture in Virginia Beach early Wednesday morning caused a sweeping power outage that affected hundreds of homes and businesses, according to Dominion Energy.

The energy company said the gas leak started along a short stretch of South Military Highway, it was reported at 02.40 The city of Virginia Beach is working with Virginia Natural Gas to understand the scale of the impact. There is no threat to the public at this time.
