Glenn Marten’s rumor of being Maison Margiela’s next creative director

Update: As per the latest report from WwdGlenn Martens is confirmed to be the next creative director of Maison Margiela. Other Reports Quote Martens, who says “I feel extremely honored to participate in the amazing Maison Margiela, a truly unique house that has inspired the world for decades. And I thank Renzo for the confidence he puts in me. “

OTB chairman Renzo Rosso is also quoted in this same report as to say “I have been working with Glenn for years, I have witnessed his talent and I know what he is capable of. After Martin, who gave life to Maison and its unique craft line, and John, who made it the most groundbreaking couture house in the world, I am proud to have a third couturier at his helm. Glenn, who studied at Antwerps Royal Academy of Fine Arts like Martin, has already shown his skill and vision in Couture. “

After Glenn Martens’ departure on Y/Project last year, rumors have been common about where he will land next time. In the endless game of fashion musical chairs, the now creative director of Diesel is speculated to be the next creative lead for Maison Margiela. He would follow John Galliano, who recently left his role in parliament.

In a report from WwdRenzo Rosso has reportedly approached Martens, although the Margiela mother company OTB has not yet confirmed. Since coming to Diesel in 2020, he has led the brand to have a cult afterwards. In 2022, Martens dabbled in couture as a guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier. While Y/Project closes like a brand, Martens had spent over a decade of the label and served incredible experience of building cult -like consequences for a fire.

Under the OTB group are brands such as Diesel, Jil Sander, Marni, Viktor & Rolf brands, and they also have a share in Amiri. Martens was famously recruited by Jean Paul Gaultier after he saw his exam relationship at Antwerps Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2008 and landed him as a junior designer for his woman’s pre-collection and G2 Men’s brand with JPG. It’s back to see if the rumors are right.
