28 organs recovered no survivors expected after American Airlines flight collides with military helicopter

An American Airlines aircraft with 60 passengers and four crew members on board collided with a military helicopter near Washington, DC, Wednesday night threw himself into the Potomac River.

Washington’s brand and EMS chief John Donnelly said on Thursday morning that 28 bodies were recovered from the stage: 27 passengers from the jet and one from the helicopter.

“At this point, we don’t think there’s any survivor from this accident,” Donnelly said, adding that the first respondents “changed from a rescue operation to a recovery operation.”
