Timberwolves 138-113 Jazz (30 January 2025) Game Recap

Salt Lake City-Anthony Edwards scored 16 of its 36 points in the third quarter, and Minnesota Timberwolves directed Utah 138-113 on Thursday for their fifth equal victory and number two on two nights.

Added to the All-Star game as a reserve on Thursday, Edwards had 11 assists and entered a decisive 44-22 third quarter for Timberwolves. Minnesota came from a 121-113 victory on Phoenix on Wednesday.

After Jazz made a modest race in the fourth quarter, Edwards made three 3-Pointers in a 1:25 span to give Minnesota a 125-97 lead with 4:34 back.

Keyonte George, who was moved out of Utah’s starting lineup four games ago, scored 23 points on 7-for-7 shooting. Collin Sexton had 19 points, while John Collins and Jordan Clarkson both had 16 in Utah’s eighth consecutive loss.

Minnesota-rookie Rob Dillingham had a career high 19 points. Rudy Gobert and Luka Garza added every 16 points.

Takeaways

Timberwolves: Even without the Point Guard Mike Conley (thumb -dereline), Timberwolves ran their violation without any problems, consisting of a passport in front of Utah’s defensive encrypter. Minnesota had 38 assists and matched its seasonal height of 38 assists, set three games ago at Denver.

Jazz: The game marked the first time all Utah’s veteran leaders (Lauri Markkanen, Collins, Sexton and Clarkson) have been available since the jazz won on Miami 136-100 on January 4th. The Markkan’s 3-Pointer gave Utah an early 25- 10 leader, but the jazz sputtered the rest of the game.

Keying moment

When he came back from illness, Naz made fours just 3s when Minnesota Outscorated Jazz 32-11 over a nine-minute span that brodged the first and second quarter. Timberwolves never pulled after that.

Key State

Timberwolves shot a seasonal high 61.3% from the field, which easily consists of their previous brand of 56.6% in a loss to Memphis on January 11.
