Dallas Weather: Record precipitates, heavy rain and significant flooding continues

Heavy rain continues on Thursday morning as DFW faces significant flooding and registration of rainfall.

What we know:

Just before midnight Wednesday, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport recorded 2.8 inch rain, seting a new daily record for January 29.

By KL. 05 On Thursday, the total amount had risen to 3.91 inches – almost an inch more than at midnight. High water has been reported in areas above the metrox, including near White Rock Lake.

Dallas-Fort Worth flood warnings

National Weather Service has continued to expand and expand flooding warnings that were originally issued on Wednesday night. Most warnings across MetroPlex have now been expanded from 1 p.m. 05 for dinner.

A flood warning remains in force for Dallas, Tarrant and Parts of the Collin Trails. A wider flood watch is in place until noon, but can expire earlier.

Most of the DFW area has received between 3 and 5 inches of rain, with totals expected to rise when showers continue through the morning.

Thursday afternoon weather

Rain is expected to clear at noon when the sky gradually clears from west to east. In the afternoon, North-Texas will partly look for mostly sunny sky with heights in the mid-60s.

Weekend forecast

Temperatures remain in the mid -60s Friday before a warm -up trend grabs. Highs reach the low 70s on Saturday, mid -70s Sunday and could approach 80 degrees at noon Monday.

A cooling is expected by Tuesday.
